What Counts as a Plumbing Emergency

If you're asking whether your situation is an emergency, it probably is. Here are the most common emergency calls we respond to — and what to do while you wait for us.

Burst or Broken Pipes
A burst pipe can discharge dozens of gallons per minute. Shut off your main water supply immediately and call us. Every minute counts.
First: Shut off main water supply
Major Active Leaks
Water you can see actively flowing or pooling inside your home needs immediate attention. Shut off water to the affected area or to the whole house.
First: Shut off supply valve or main
Sewage Backup
Sewage backing up into tubs, toilets, or floor drains is a health hazard. Stop using all water in the home immediately and call us.
First: Stop all water use in the home
No Hot Water
A failed water heater — especially one that's leaking — needs same-day attention. If the unit is leaking, shut off the supply valve at the top of the heater.
First: Shut off supply valve to heater
Gas Line Concerns
If you smell gas, leave the home immediately and call your gas company first, then us. Do not use any switches or electronics until the home is cleared.
First: Leave home, call gas company
Overflowing Fixtures
An overflowing toilet or backed-up drain that won't stop needs immediate attention before water damage compounds. Shut off the supply valve at the base of the toilet.
First: Shut off supply valve at fixture

What to Do Before We Arrive

The steps you take in the first few minutes of a plumbing emergency can make a significant difference in how much damage occurs before we get there.

No Inflated Emergency Pricing
We don't believe in punishing homeowners for having an emergency at 11pm. We're upfront about after-hours rates before we come out — no surprises on the invoice. You'll know what it costs before we start.
01
Locate & shut off water
Know where your main shut-off valve is before an emergency happens. In Phoenix homes it's typically near the street, in a box at the curb, or in the garage.
02
Turn off your water heater
If you shut off the main water supply, turn your water heater to "pilot" or off to prevent it from running dry and burning out.
03
Move valuables away from water
Get electronics, documents, and anything water-sensitive off the floor and away from the affected area while you wait.
04
Document with photos
Take photos and video of the damage before cleanup begins. This is important for any insurance claims.
05
